Role Overview
Senior/Enterprise Architect (Remote)
- Senior, client-facing leader responsible for defining, governing, and evolving end-to-end enterprise technology architecture for large-scale healthcare payer organizations.
- Leads architectural modernization efforts across cloud adoption, AI enablement, and enterprise transformation.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive enterprise technology architecture for major initiatives; deliver end-to-end architectural direction.
- Develop and govern an enterprise-wide technology blueprint across clinical, operational, administrative, and data domains.
- Define and maintain architecture standards, reference models, guardrails, and best practices for modernization and cloud programs.
- Provide authoritative guidance on architectural decisions, trade-offs, patterns, and solution designs across multi-year programs.
- Ensure solutions comply with healthcare regulatory and industry requirements, including HIPAA, CMS, NCQA, state mandates, interoperability, FHIR, value-based care, and AI-enabled workflows.
- Lead modernization of legacy systems using cloud-native, API-driven, microservices-based, and AI-assisted architectures.
- Architect integrations for heterogeneous systems using event-driven patterns, microservices, APIs, and modern cloud services.
- Ensure scalability, resiliency, security, interoperability, cost optimization, and high performance.
- Partner with business/IT executives, engineering teams, and PMOs to align technology decisions with strategy.
- Lead architecture reviews, workshops, roadmap planning, and technical decision forums for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide continuous architectural oversight and ensure designs align with standards and long-term strategy.
- Review/approve solution architectures, data flows, integration patterns, cloud deployments, and platform modernization designs.
- Identify architectural risks, gaps, and dependencies; recommend mitigation and drive resolution.
- Lead estimation efforts and support scoping/sizing for projects.
- Mentor junior architects and other delivery team members; contribute to thought leadership and documentation.
Requirements
- Must be based in the continental United States.
- Travel up to 25%.
- Deep healthcare payer domain expertise and broad enterprise technology leadership.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience anchoring Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
- Demonstrated consultative/business skills across multiple industry domains.
