About the role

Role Overview

Senior Enterprise/Solutions Architect focused on enterprise technology architecture for large-scale healthcare payer organizations. This is a remote role requiring the candidate to live in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive enterprise end-to-end technology architecture for major initiatives
  • Develop and govern an enterprise technology blueprint across clinical, operational, administrative, and data domains
  • Define and maintain architecture standards, reference models, guardrails, and best practices
  • Provide authoritative guidance on critical architectural decisions and solution designs across multi-year programs
  • Ensure solutions comply with healthcare regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, NCQA, and state mandates)
  • Lead modernization of legacy systems using cloud-native, API-driven, microservices-based, and AI-assisted architectures
  • Architect integration strategies using event-driven patterns, microservices, APIs, and modern cloud services
  • Ensure architectures meet requirements for scalability, resiliency, security, interoperability, cost optimization, and performance
  • Partner with business and IT executives, engineering teams, and PMOs to align technology with strategy
  • Lead and facilitate architecture reviews, working sessions, roadmap planning, and technical decision forums
  • Provide continuous architectural oversight for transformation programs and ensure alignment with standards and long-term strategy
  • Review and approve solution architectures, data flows, integration patterns, cloud deployments, and modernization designs
  • Identify architectural risks, gaps, and dependencies; recommend mitigation and drive resolution
  • Lead estimation efforts and define optimal delivery team structures
  • May mentor junior architects and other delivery team members; contribute to thought leadership and documentation

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Deep healthcare payer domain expertise and strong enterprise architecture leadership for complex modernization programs
  • Proven ability to design and govern enterprise architecture standards, reference models, and guardrails
  • Experience with compliance in healthcare and alignment to interoperability trends (e.g., FHIR)
  • Demonstrated leadership in architectural reviews, roadmap planning, and stakeholder decision-making

Nice-to-Haves (from the posting)

  • Experience enabling AI-enabled workflows and modernization with cloud-native architectures
  • Strong background with interoperability/value-based care concepts and enterprise integration patterns
