Senior Solutions Architect (New Logo)

Role overview

As a Senior Solutions Architect, you’ll be the primary customer-facing technical leader for the Western region. You’ll work with prospects and customers to assess technical fit for Temporal’s platform, communicate platform advantages, and build lasting technical relationships with key decision-makers.

Key missions

• Collaborate with prospects to determine whether their applications are a strong match for the Temporal platform.
• Educate customers and prospects on Temporal platform and cloud service technical benefits and limitations.
• Manage and maintain relationships with technical decision-makers to ensure customers fully leverage Temporal capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic technical advisor to Sales Account Executives, helping scope and size opportunities and advising on technical fit and challenges.
• Produce architecture guidance covering application patterns, platform architectures, and trade-offs.
• Provide prototype and solution guidance, including design, development, build, and deployment direction.
• Advise on production operations including security, reliability, performance, cost management, and operational practices.
• Communicate effectively through presentations, whiteboarding, and technical writing.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of distributed systems technologies, design principles, and best practices.
• Ability to build application prototypes and provide guidance using one or more supported languages: Java, Go (Golang), TypeScript, Python, C#, or PHP.
• Strong grasp of operational considerations for production systems: security, reliability, performance, cost, and operations.
• Exceptional technical communication skills (presenting, whiteboarding, writing).
• Live within Mountain or Pacific time zones.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider and familiarity with common app development and production services.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with architectural scoping for production migrations and/or integrations (implied by leading opportunities and technical fit assessments).
