Senior Solutions Architect II, Kubernetes

Role overview

Senior Solutions Architect II (Kubernetes) at DigitalOcean. You will serve as a hands-on technical subject matter expert, guiding customers through Kubernetes migrations and cloud-native transformations to improve retention, expansion, and net-new customer onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on Kubernetes migration projects, ensuring smooth workload transitions to Kubernetes.
• Analyze existing infrastructure and applications to create robust migration strategies.
• Design, implement, and optimize Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.
• Troubleshoot complex migration issues to minimize downtime and maintain performance.
• Partner with Customer Success, Support, and Sales to drive technical excellence for key accounts and new prospects.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Product, Engineering, Operations) so customer feedback improves DigitalOcean offerings.
• Create infrastructure diagrams and communicate architecture decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Run technical workshops, proof of concepts, and demos around Kubernetes migration and cloud-native solutions.
• Provide tailored onboarding and migration assistance to unblock customers and accelerate adoption.

Requirements

• Software engineering experience: 7+ years.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Strong experience with the Kubernetes ecosystem and cloud-native patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, design, and review Kubernetes migration and modernization strategies.
• Ability to work through the full migration lifecycle with ownership of technical execution.
