About the role

Role Overview

As a Senior Solution Architect at Honeycomb (EMEA, full remote), you will drive technical strategy for strategic customer opportunities. You will combine solution design, customer advocacy, and revenue impact by owning discovery, evaluations, demos, and competitive technical assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical strategy for complex sales opportunities, partnering with Account Executives and sales leadership to move deals forward
  • Lead discovery and solution design across customer environments with multiple stakeholders and competing requirements
  • Run end-to-end evaluations and proofs of concept (POCs), including:
    • defining success criteria
    • planning and executing technical work
    • identifying risks and debriefing learnings
  • Deliver compelling demos and presentations tailored to technical and executive audiences
  • Manage competitive evaluations and identify technical/strategic risks to help unblock deals
  • Contribute reusable architectures and technical content, and bring field insights back to the company
  • Mentor junior Solution Architects through coaching, documentation, and reusable assets

Requirements

  • Strong solutioning skills to turn ambiguous customer needs into clear technical approaches and evaluation plans
  • Hands-on fluency with modern cloud environments, including containers, Kubernetes, API-driven architectures, and at least one major cloud provider
  • Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and integration issues across languages, frameworks, and deployment patterns
  • Experience owning POCs/technical evaluations: defining success criteria, managing risk, and driving measurable outcomes
  • Consultative communication skills to tailor messaging for practitioners, architects, and director-level stakeholders
  • Strong judgment, autonomy, and follow-through in fast-moving deal environments
  • Credibility with developers, platform, SRE, and engineering-led audiences (technical depth + business context)
  • Collaborative, low-ego style with ability to pull in cross-functional partners
  • 5+ years of pre-sales, solution architecture, sales engineering, or customer-facing technical experience in B2B SaaS

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with MEDDPICC or Command of the Message
  • Deep knowledge of observability, distributed systems, distributed tracing, and OpenTelemetry
  • Experience supporting complex enterprise/commercial sales cycles with sophisticated engineering teams
