Senior Software Quality Engineer (SaaS)

Role Overview

Senior Software Quality Engineer (SaaS) at TeamBuilder. You’ll be a senior individual contributor who builds scalable quality systems across a growing SaaS platform, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and leadership throughout the SDLC.

Responsibilities

Quality Strategy

• Develop and continuously improve QA processes and testing standards
• Establish best practices and risk-based testing approaches
• Drive quality metrics and reporting; improve release confidence and production stability

Manual Testing

• Create detailed test plans and test cases
• Perform exploratory testing and regression testing
• Validate complex business workflows
• Reproduce and document defects clearly

Test Automation

• Design and implement automated testing frameworks
• Build and maintain UI automation suites
• Build and maintain API automation suites
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor and improve automation coverage and reliability

API Testing

• Test REST APIs (e.g., Postman)
• Validate authentication, authorization, and error handling
• Create automated API regression suites
• Analyze API logs and payloads

Data Validation & Reconciliation

• Validate application data against underlying databases
• Perform data reconciliation between systems
• Investigate production issues using SQL
• Verify integrations and ETL processes
• Build repeatable validation processes

Documentation

• Create and maintain test plans, QA processes, release validation checklists, regression suites, status reports, and defect documentation

Collaboration

• Partner with developers during feature delivery
• Participate in design and requirements reviews
• Drive bug triage discussions
• Communicate quality risks to stakeholders

Requirements

• 5+ years QA experience in SaaS products
• Proven ownership of quality for complex web applications
• Strong manual testing and test automation experience
• Experience testing APIs
• Strong SQL skills
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Automation / API / Data Validation

• Automation tools: experience with one or more of Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or TestCafe
• API tools: Postman; Swagger/OpenAPI; REST APIs
• Data validation: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL (write queries, compare datasets, validate business calculations, investigate data discrepancies)

Preferred

• AI-enabled QA experience (e.g., AI-assisted test generation, automation creation, bug analysis, regression identification, documentation, exploratory testing)
• SaaS experience with B2B, enterprise software, multi-tenant apps, authentication/SSO, and complex workflows

Logistics

• Full-time, exempt role
• Remote (East Coast hours primarily) with some travel required
