About the role

Role overview

Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead a studio team building a browser-based 3D design platform. You will own frontend architecture and technical direction while remaining hands-on from day one, with a focus on delivering high-quality, performant, scalable experiences and accelerating development with AI/LLMs.

Responsibilities

Lead a studio team of frontend and full-stack engineers
Own frontend architecture, technical direction, and design decisions
Drive feature development for a new product area while evolving the existing platform
Partner with product and design to deliver high-quality user experiences
Stay hands-on in the codebase and contribute to production code

Requirements

2+ years of formal engineering management experience
Startup experience with a strong frontend-leaning full-stack background (React/TypeScript/Node)
Proven experience using AI/LLMs (e.g., Claude) to accelerate development and improve problem-solving/team productivity
Comfortable contributing to production code while leading architecture and hiring
Strong communication and people leadership skills with a collaborative, pragmatic style

Nice-to-haves

Experience leading architecture for complex, highly interactive browser-based 3D products
Demonstrated impact from AI/LLM adoption in engineering workflows

Compensation & benefits

Base salary: $185k–$240k plus equity
