About the role

Role Overview

Join WorkMotion’s fully remote Talent Operations Engineering Team as a Senior Software Engineer. You’ll help build and maintain the technology that powers global hiring and the talent lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services
Contribute to frontend features when needed
Influence architecture and system design decisions across the platform
Review code and mentor teammates
Help improve engineering standards and best practices
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders

Requirements

5–6+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily backend-focused with some frontend exposure
Experience designing scalable systems and distributed architectures
Strong English communication (written and spoken)
Daily experience using AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code)
Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD), clean code, and software engineering best practices
Hands-on experience with:
- Java and Spring Boot
- React
- Microservices
- REST APIs
- PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- AWS
Experience building highly scalable SaaS platforms
Passion for continuous learning and modern engineering practices
Experience in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban)
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Nice to Have

Experience with system architecture and technical decision-making across platforms (implied by senior scope)
