About the role

Role Overview

Fandango (Versant Media) is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Platform Operations team. You will build and improve the tools and systems that enable developer productivity and deliver platform enhancements across Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, and Fandango at Home.

Responsibilities

Own features end-to-end: technical design → implementation → testing → deployment → production support
Build and maintain internal tools/platforms to improve developer productivity across engineering teams
Develop backend services, APIs, and data models supporting platform capabilities and scale
Build frontend interfaces for internal tooling using React and Next.js
Translate requirements into solutions by partnering with product managers and stakeholders
Write clean, well-tested code (unit, integration, end-to-end)
Collaborate with Platform and Infrastructure teams and leverage shared services/tooling
Work with SRE on reliability, observability, and incident response for owned systems
Support operational handoffs and readiness with Operations and Platform teams
Instrument services with logging, metrics, and tracing for monitoring and debugging
Participate in on-call rotations to triage and resolve production issues
Manage deployments via CI/CD, including feature flags and staged rollouts
Contribute to technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture decision records (ADRs)
Participate in code reviews and provide/receive feedback
Continuously improve development practices, tools, and workflows

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
5+ years of full-stack development with strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript
Strong frontend knowledge: React, state management, and responsive design
Proven backend experience with APIs and database systems
Experience building internal tools, developer platforms, or productivity tooling
Experience in continuous integration with strong testing practices (unit/integration/e2e)
Ability to architect scalable, secure, maintainable applications
Cloud experience with AWS preferred and infrastructure-as-code
