Senior Software Engineer

Role overview

Join True Link Financial as a Senior Software Engineer in a remote-first fintech environment. You’ll primarily build in a Rails/React stack, contribute to architecture, and mentor teammates while delivering reliable, high-quality software.

Key missions & responsibilities

• Independently deliver code in the Rails/React environment with high-quality standards.
• Mentor and teach teammates: model better practices, guide the team, and share knowledge across experience levels.
• Actively manage technical debt incrementally without slowing feature delivery.
• Apply best practices for:
  • Testing
  • Accessibility
  • Security
  • Maintainability
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and designers to understand business needs.
• Work effectively in ambiguity and change within an agile environment.

Requirements

• Experience building web applications with Rails.
• Proficiency with a modern frontend framework, specifically React (also acceptable: Angular or Vue).
• Experience delivering and receiving feedback; comfortable collaborating with teammates.
• Experience in high-compliance environments, e.g. PCI, ISO 27001, HIPAA, SOX.
• Demonstrated curiosity about user needs (users, teammates, and organization).
• Proactive problem solving and strong understanding of business context.
• Ability to work both independently and closely with a remote team.

Nice-to-haves

• Fintech experience, including learning customer needs in B2B settings.
• Experience with fiduciary/advisory services.
• Prior experience teaching or mentoring.
• Familiarity with ES6, Yarn, and Webpack.

• Must work from Central Time.
