Role overview
Boulevard is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Test) / Senior SDET as a foundational hire for an enterprise-grade quality program. The role owns the health of CI/CD pipelines and the engineering patterns that make automated testing fast, reliable, and trusted across Boulevard’s Elixir and TypeScript codebases.
Responsibilities
- Own the stability and performance of CI across frontend and backend repositories
- Improve pipeline outcomes: increase success rates and reduce runtimes
- Drive a cultural norm of “no merge on red” (prevent merges when tests fail)
- Diagnose and eliminate flaky tests by identifying and fixing non-determinism
- Build tooling to make flakiness visible and attributable before it becomes noise
- Define Elixir unit and integration testing patterns and how to test service boundaries
- Support long-term integration testing practices used by Elixir engineers
- As the program matures, help introduce AI-assisted test generation and spec-driven development into daily workflows
Requirements / Qualifications
- Strong experience designing and improving automated test infrastructure and CI/CD workflows
- Expertise with Elixir testing patterns (unit/integration) and improving test reliability
- Ability to partner cross-functionally with engineering leadership and frontend/backend teams
- Demonstrated capability to tackle flakiness and improve pipeline performance
Nice to have
- Experience with AI-assisted test generation
- Experience with spec-driven development practices
