About the role

Role overview

Senior Software Engineer (Technical Lead) at MeridianLink (Full remote). You will provide technical leadership for the architecture, delivery, and quality of integration solutions within the consumer lending platform, spanning new and existing systems.

Responsibilities

Technical leadership & architecture: lead integration architecture and delivery end-to-end.
Build integrations: design, develop, document, test, deploy, monitor, and debug integration solutions across software systems and applications.
Quality & standards: establish and enforce technical standards, coding practices, and integration patterns; run code reviews and set quality gates.
Fintech integration expertise: implement and support integration concepts and financial data workflows.
Troubleshooting & problem-solving: assess ambiguous technical situations, identify root causes, and design durable solutions with clear trade-offs.
Stakeholder & partner collaboration: coordinate with senior internal stakeholders and external partner engineering teams; communicate effectively with non-architecture audiences.

Requirements

Strong fintech integration knowledge: OAuth 2.0, webhooks, API security, and financial data workflows.
Deep financial domain familiarity: credit bureau data, fraud scoring models, bank account verification, income verification, and risk-based decisioning pipelines.
Strong software engineering skills and technical leadership (7–10 years progressive experience; includes leading responsibilities).
Expertise in C# / VB.NET / .NET Framework and enterprise web application development.
Experience designing and integrating RESTful and SOAP APIs in distributed systems.
Ability to work with limited documentation by adapting existing platform patterns.
Experience delivering complex integration projects end-to-end; mentoring/leading technical teams.
Front-end framework experience (4+ years); React preferred.
Strong API security & integration patterns knowledge: OAuth/webhook event delivery, mTLS (certificate-pinned), JSON/XML payload transformation, and API versioning.
5+ years building web applications using .NET Framework, Node.js, or comparable.
SQL Server experience, relational database design, and performance optimization.
Automated testing (unit, integration, contract testing) and CI/CD pipeline design plus DevOps practices.
Cloud and Azure development experience.
Performance profiling and security hardening for API-based integrations.

Nice to have

Experience with consumer lending, financial systems, fintech platforms.
Experience with credit decisioning engines, dynamic scoring models, automated underwriting workflows.
Experience with loan origination systems (LOS) and/or consumer lending software.
