About the role

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Backend / Core Platform) — 100% remote (US). Tact is building AI that investigates and responds to security alerts, reducing the pressure on security analysts.

Responsibilities

Design and build the core systems powering autonomous investigations.
Integrate with security tools and platforms such as SIEM, EDR, and cloud security tooling.
Improve how the AI thinks, investigates, and makes decisions.
Work directly with security teams to solve real-world problems.
Make architecture decisions that shape the product.

Requirements

Strong backend engineering experience, particularly with Python.
Experience building production-grade systems at scale.
Familiarity with security tooling, including SIEM, SOAR, EDR (or similar).
Comfortable with ownership and working in ambiguity.
Proven experience building real systems, not just features.

Nice-to-haves

Interest in security operations and building products with direct impact on security team workflows.
