Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

Build and mature the core software platform behind StratusGrid’s agentic product Stratusphere. You’ll work across backend infrastructure and agent tooling that helps discover, contextualize, plan, and execute work for customers—while partnering closely with Customer Success and Human-in-the-Loop teams.

Responsibilities

• Agent-First Software Development: Oversee AI agents to rapidly test, implement, and mature solutions across the web platform, backend services, infrastructure, data pipelines, and agent tooling.
• Engineering Judgment & Scrutiny: Be the ultimate reviewer for AI-generated plans/code; ensure implementations are rigorously tested, scalable, maintainable, and meet engineering standards.
• Improve Velocity/Quality/Maintainability: Stay current on best practices for agent-first development and contribute to improving team processes, standards, and tooling.
• Collaborative System Design: Partner with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to evolve the Stratusphere platform so technical decisions align with goals and customer needs.
• Agent Improvement Feedback Loop: Enhance agent architecture/tooling/prompts by addressing recurring failure patterns (missing context, risky sequencing, unclear rollback, incomplete stakeholder info). Propose rubric/training example/workflow improvements with Product and Human-in-the-Loop teams.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate in high-visibility channels; share context broadly; ask questions early; foster fast learning without introducing risk through isolation.
• Execution with Reliability & Urgency: Own work end-to-end—capture commitments, meet deadlines, proactively communicate status, escalate early, and close the loop.
• Product Partnership & Roadmap Input: Test solutions to customer problems, iterate from learnings, and implement features based on data and proven results.
• Operational Excellence & Standards: Follow customer experience standards, change control, documentation expectations, and maintain work-system hygiene.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in at least one language (preferably TypeScript) and ability to oversee agentic delivery in other languages.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new languages and frameworks.
• Testing-focused engineering: Architect services to support layered testing and consistently use testing to enforce quality and maintainability while developing rapidly with AI Agents.
