Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

Join Stellar Health as a Senior Software Engineer and drive impactful outcomes across multiple teams. You’ll develop core features of the healthcare platform, act as a Tech Lead on cross-team initiatives, and set technical direction.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

• Lead work that spans multiple teams, developing key platform features.
• Act as a Tech Lead on cross-team projects by:
  • Writing Technical Design Docs
  • Gathering requirements
  • Building consensus across stakeholders
• Build and maintain critical data pipelines, ensuring they are:
  • Scalable
  • Efficient
  • Flexible for diverse data needs

Requirements

• Experience with a cloud platform such as AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure.
• Expertise in relational databases, especially PostgreSQL (also MySQL).
• Ability to drive medium to large projects from inception to completion.
• Experience with data pipelines and understanding relevant non-functional requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication across time zones and diverse backgrounds.
• Experience writing production-level code:
  • 6+ years total experience (Python preferred; also Java/C++/Go)
  • 7+ years professional engineering experience with recent backend production code (Python preferred; also Java/C++/Go) and front-end experience (JavaScript/TypeScript with React, Angular, or Vue).
• Proven track record leading cross-team technical initiatives end-to-end and authoring TDDs (or equivalent design proposals) that align stakeholders.
• Demonstrated influence on technical decisions beyond your own team.

Nice to Have

• Data platform experience with Snowflake or Databricks and dbt for data transformations.
