Role: Senior Software Engineer

Join Spark Advisors to help modernize the Medicare ecosystem by building and maintaining a web-based broker platform.

What you’ll do

Deliver impactful full-stack features for Medicare brokers and beneficiaries.
Partner with product to understand how agents and Medicare beneficiaries interact, and build features that improve retiree outcomes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review design mockups and contribute to product scope.
Identify and manage technical debt while designing robust architectures for long-term scalability.
Contribute to engineering standards through code reviews and technical design feedback.
Use modern AI-powered developer tools to reduce friction and focus on meaningful problems.

What we’re looking for

5+ years professional experience with either modern JavaScript (Vue/React) or Python/backend web development, including hands-on experience across the stack.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with comfort in ambiguity.
Product intuition and interest in how engineering decisions drive business outcomes.
Fluency with AI-powered development tools as part of your daily workflow.
Strong communication and project management skills.
Attention to detail and a track record of shipping customer-facing products.
Growth-oriented mindset focused on learning and continuous improvement.

Nice to have

Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
Expertise in Django or similar.
Track record in technical or project leadership.
