About the role
Role Overview
Senior Software Engineer, SDET (Remote)
You will design, implement, and execute automated testing to ensure product quality across regression, performance, load, and scenario-based coverage.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and execute automated tests (regression, performance, load, and scenario coverage from manual test plans)
- Analyze automated test results and communicate actionable insights and quality metrics to stakeholders
- Collaborate with QA and development teams to identify gaps, file defects, and prioritize the automation backlog
- Perform functional testing as needed to validate features and confirm automation accuracy
- Improve test strategies, frameworks, and processes to enhance overall product quality
- Apply automation expertise to support software design and development best practices (testability, scalability)
- Diagnose complex issues using strong analytical/problem-solving skills and adapt to changing priorities
- Mentor and train junior team members with technical guidance and QA best practices
- Validate compliance with design specifications and quality standards
- Document test plans, automation workflows/processes, and execution results
- Stay current with emerging automation technologies and adopt those that add value
- Investigate failed automated tests and customer-reported defects to improve robustness, efficiency, and coverage
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Software Engineering or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in software automation and testing
- Strong test automation scripting and end-to-end automation practices (manual testing experience expected)
- Strong experience with test automation for Microsoft-based services
- Proficiency in at least one of: C#, .NET, or JavaScript
- Practical automation framework experience: Selenium, WebdriverIO, Playwright, or similar
- Functional understanding of Windows Server OS and relational databases (Oracle, or MSSQL Server) (plus)
- API testing experience with Postman and source control (e.g., GitHub)
Nice to Haves
- Exposure to AI for automation/functional testing
- Hands-on experience with agentic/autonomous AI-based testing approaches
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps and Microsoft Test Manager
- Prior experience with Octave products
