Role overview

Join Rail Europe as a Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack) – Ruby on Rails on the B2C engineering team. You will design, develop, and deliver high-quality software features while contributing to continuous improvement across the full development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Conceive, develop, and deliver production-grade software features using Ruby on Rails, working on both backend and frontend.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle: technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Diagnose and resolve technical challenges across data flows, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Contribute with a product mindset, focusing on user and business impact.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Proven modern frontend development experience (comfortable working across backend and frontend).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound technical trade-offs.
• Strong focus on code quality, testing, and long-term maintainability.
• English fluency (required).
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted developer tools in daily work.

Nice-to-haves

• BSc in Engineering/Computer Science (or related field).
• Experience with or strong interest in Hotwire.
• Experience with PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with AWS.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
