Senior Software Engineer (Python, Typescript, AWS)

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer working on backend infrastructure that enables production NLP/ML pipelines. You’ll take an ownership mindset, building data pipelines, cloud platform capabilities, and contributing to APIs and the web application.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data pipelines: ingest, stage, transform, and deliver data reliably through cloud infrastructure.
• Backend infrastructure: implement the “heavy lifting” software that powers the product.
• AWS platform engineering: configure and operate AWS services with production-grade practices.
  • Use ECS, Lambda, S3, OpenSearch (and/or equivalent search infrastructure).
  • Build observable, resilient cloud systems.
• Data & SQL:
  • Write performant SQL and design schemas/queries that hold up under real workloads.
  • Work with PostgreSQL.
• Full-stack support (~30%):
  • Contribute to APIs and frontend using TypeScript with React and Node.js.
• Client-facing collaboration:
  • Join calls to troubleshoot issues, stand up new features, and whiteboard solutions.
  • Communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong backend, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure experience.
• Proficient Python (primary language).
• Hands-on AWS experience, specifically with ECS, Lambda, S3, and OpenSearch.
• Solid SQL skills using PostgreSQL (or comparable relational databases).
• Working proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Ability to operate remote-first, self-directed, and independently without close management.
• Comfortable translating between technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

• Experience with equivalent search infrastructure if not specifically OpenSearch.
