Senior Software Engineer (Product Foundations)

Role overview

Join Patreon as a Senior Backend Software Engineer (Product Foundations) to design and implement scalable backend systems that power the platform. You’ll work closely with engineers and product managers to deliver reliable, efficient services supporting Patreon's growth.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems handling millions of requests per day.
• Write efficient, scalable, maintainable code.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and product managers to build and maintain reliable systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development.
• Strong experience with Python (or similar language).
• Solid knowledge of software design patterns and principles.
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional partners.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
