Role Overview

Join Prison Fellowship as a Senior Software Engineer to maintain and transform legacy applications and build modern, API-driven web applications. You’ll serve as a technical SME while working across a software product lane.

Responsibilities

Act as a software product SME, providing technical leadership and performing code reviews
Maintain and improve applications running on October CMS
Develop and maintain high-quality web applications using React and PHP (Laravel)
Build, enhance, and integrate RESTful APIs using Python and PHP, working with existing APIs per specifications
Create data models based on specified requirements
Contribute to architecture decisions and collaborate with teammates across disciplines

Qualifications

10+ years software engineering experience
2–5 years software design experience including frontend, API design, and data models
2–5 years performing code reviews for team members and contractors
2–5 years serving as a lead developer and SME
Strong background designing and consuming APIs in PHP and solid experience with PostgreSQL
Strong understanding of SOA and MACH principles
Comfortable working independently while collaborating as a team
Clear communication skills and a proactive, stewardship-driven mindset

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Salesforce APIs
Experience with October CMS, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server

Logistics

Remote / work from home with up to 5% travel
