Senior Software Engineer (Platform)

Role overview

Join SeatGeek as a Senior Software Engineer (Platform) to build and improve the company’s platform capabilities. You’ll partner with engineering and product teams to deliver reliable, scalable systems while improving developer experience, observability, security, and deployment/operations practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support shared platform systems and tooling used by teams across SeatGeek.
• Work with engineering and product teams on performance, scalability, and reliability as the marketplace grows.
• Improve how software is built and operated by identifying friction across teams and workflows.
• Contribute to system reliability, observability, and security, including through automation and thoughtful abstractions.
• Participate in operating production systems and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance development and operations.

Requirements

• Interest in developer experience (DX), platform usability, and how tools/abstractions/workflows impact productivity and business goals.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines; communicate clearly and translate broad needs into practical technical solutions.
• Thoughtful coding practices focused on clarity, maintainability, and operability by others.
• Experience contributing to shared systems/platforms/infrastructure that enable other engineers/teams.
• Commitment to learning and growth through knowledge sharing, feedback, and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with building/running/improving production systems with focus on reliability, security, scalability, and safer ways to deploy and operate software.
