Senior Software Engineer, Platform

Role Overview

ECP is building a new Platform organization and is seeking an early platform engineer to own shared platform components that other delivery teams depend on. You will build the capabilities powering ECP Intelligence, a set of role-based agents that operate within users’ permissions and through ECP’s shared identity and domain services.

What You’ll Build

• ECP Intelligence capabilities, including:
  • Agent tool surface (what agents can use)
  • Retrieval and context layer grounded in clinical/operational data
  • Serving path for reaching a model
  • Evaluation to catch regressions before customers are impacted
  • First agent workflow runs
• Shared platform components, starting with what the organization chooses to take on first:
  • Define and stabilize interfaces other teams can safely depend on
  • Make legacy-vs-new service seams explicit so systems work across both
• Messaging backbone:
  • Complete adoption of the event bus
  • Add contract testing so services can be verified independently
  • Support the messaging/event platform for other teams to build on

Responsibilities

• Own production shared components and remain accountable for reliability after delivery
• Lead design and architecture choices (“with a loud voice”) for how capabilities are built
• Ensure agent behavior can be verified, including what agents cannot do (clinical software requirements)
• Design so new code serves both the new Node/TypeScript platform and the existing ColdFusion legacy platform simultaneously

Requirements

• Experience building shared components/platform services used by other teams, with continued accountability afterward
• Strong, real depth in domain-driven design (DDD) and event-driven architecture
• Ability to explain bounded contexts and how they map to the domain

Nice-to-Haves / Additional Context

• Multi-tenant HIPAA product experience or comparable compliance/regulatory environments
• Familiarity with migrating from legacy architectures and running systems in parallel
