Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Backend Engineer to build and operate cloud-based APIs and databases that power Pipe’s capital products.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable, reliable backend services, primarily using Go and Python
• Architect, optimize, and maintain relational database tables in PostgreSQL
• Lead technical projects from concept through launch while ensuring quality and reliability
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and other engineers to define requirements and implement solutions
• Conduct thorough code reviews and champion engineering best practices

Required Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of backend software development experience
• Production experience with Go, Java, Python, or similar
• Experience with a relational database such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Experience building and operating scalable APIs and services
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Working knowledge of tools such as GitHub and VSCode
• Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related technical field

• Fintech experience is not required
