About the role

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer at PICKUP AI (Remote, Full-time). You’ll build and maintain the web platform and AI-powered capabilities that automate job applications and enhance job matching.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Next.js, React, and TypeScript
Build and optimize AI-powered features for job matching and application automation
Collaborate with product and design to deliver strong user experiences
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices
Participate in architecture decisions and technical planning
Write clean, tested, and well-documented code
Debug and resolve complex technical issues across the stack
Contribute to code reviews and maintain high code quality

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Node.js
Experience with Next.js (or similar full-stack frameworks)
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and integrating LLM APIs
Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

Experience with job boards, ATS systems, or HR tech
Background building automation tools or browser extensions
Experience with Python and machine learning frameworks
Contributions to open-source
Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
Knowledge of web scraping and data extraction techniques
