Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer / Architect (Senior individual contributor) within Product Engineering. You’ll own large areas of the codebase, drive architectural decisions, and set long-term technical direction—while staying hands-on with design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and the long-term technical roadmap for major areas of the technology stack
• Lead design of complex, scalable systems that meet business needs now and in the future
• Reduce complexity and technical debt by simplifying services, processes, and codebases
• Mentor technical leads and senior engineers; collaborate cross-functionally using inclusive decision-making
• Evangelize technology by aligning technical and business strategies with executives and stakeholders
• Drive innovation in cost-effectiveness, scalability, and engineering productivity
• Proactively identify and mitigate technical debt to improve quality and team velocity

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Deep expertise in software architecture, system design, and scalability with strong hands-on background
• Proficiency with: Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, and PostgreSQL
• Proven record making high-impact technical decisions in complex production environments
• Excellent communication with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
• Track record mentoring senior engineers and technical leads
• Strong understanding of security, performance, resilience, and cloud-native design at scale
• Continuous learner who stays current with emerging technologies

Compensation / Logistics

• Salary range (US states covered by law): $150,000–$180,000 minimum full-time salary range, plus eligibility for an annual incentive program
