About the role

Role overview

Join Pearl as a Senior Software Engineer and take full engineering ownership of a product—from architecture through deployment. You will design and build robust backend and frontend components, collaborate cross-functionally (with ML and product), and use AI coding tools to increase productivity.

Responsibilities

Own a product end-to-end from an engineering perspective: architecture to deployment
Design, build, and scale backend and frontend components for clinical product suites
Collaborate with ML, product, and engineering teams to develop intelligent, reliable features
Ensure software quality through automated testing and code reviews
Stay up to date with the evolving AI tooling landscape
Mentor teammates on AI-augmented development practices

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong hands-on backend and/or frontend development experience with Python and/or TypeScript/React (or similar)
Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants in production or professional workflows (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Gemini)
Ability to evaluate and rapidly adopt new AI tools
Startup / high-growth SaaS experience
Familiarity with ML/AI systems, computer vision, or data pipelines
Experience establishing AI tooling standards/workflows within an engineering org

Nice-to-haves

Prior experience leading or formalizing AI-augmented engineering practices across a team/org
