Role overview

Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, modernizing, migrating, and supporting enterprise APIs for Payments, Money Movement, and Information Reporting platforms. The role is remote, limited to candidates based in AZ, NC, or TX.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, and support secure, scalable, high-performance APIs and microservices.
Modernize and migrate APIs/integration services from on-prem to AWS cloud-native architectures.
Build cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as:
- API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, S3
- IAM, KMS, AWS Transfer Family
Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot, aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards.
Create and maintain event-driven solutions (Apache Kafka, Amazon SNS, Amazon SQS) for real-time processing.
Build, deploy, and support containerized applications using OpenShift, Docker, AWS ECS.
Troubleshoot production issues, improve resiliency, optimize performance, and enhance functionality.
Support the full API lifecycle: architecture, development, testing, deployment, governance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
Implement strong API security controls: authentication, authorization, encryption, and secrets management.
Participate in API migration activities: legacy assessment, refactoring, testing, deployment, and cutover support.
Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
Implement and support CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, deployment, and release.
Use observability tools (Dynatrace, CloudWatch, X-Ray, Grafana, Splunk) and support on-call/incident response.
Contribute to code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
4+ years of software application development experience (as stated in the posting; additional qualification text is truncated).

Deep expertise in API development, microservices, and cloud migration strategies
Hands-on experience with AWS and enterprise integration patterns
