Role overview

Join Invert’s North American engineering teams to build and ship features for scientists running critical drug-development experiments. This senior role combines hands-on engineering with project leadership and close collaboration with peers and the product team.

What you’ll build

Backend services in Python
Frontend experiences for data interaction and workflows
Streaming and systems that support real-time experimentation and monitoring
AI-first capabilities to improve reliability and trustworthiness in a regulated industry

Responsibilities

Ship new features and maintain existing ones with a high bar for technical excellence
Provide project leadership in addition to hands-on delivery
Partner with the product team and engineers to deliver outcomes for customers
Lead through ownership, identifying problems and deciding how to implement solutions
Communicate effectively in a remote environment, especially in writing
Adopt AI tooling and help your team discover and teach new workflows
Mentor others by educating and empowering peers

Requirements (the bar)

Strong deep backend and system design instincts; experience building at scale
Strong code quality standards with pragmatic flexibility
Experience using AI tools and forming opinions on how they should be used in products
Proactive ownership: you identify what to work on rather than waiting for direction
Excellent written communication to avoid “silence drag”
Enjoys tackling hard, ambiguous problems
