Senior Software Engineer (Node.js / TypeScript / AWS)

Role overview

Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale high-performance back-end services. You’ll work in a small, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and help shape solutions from the ground up, with a focus on Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS. Telecom experience (SIP/VOIP) is especially valued.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance multiple production Node.js applications running on AWS
• Design and implement new features in existing services
• Build new back-end applications using Node.js and TypeScript
• Contribute to automated testing and overall code quality
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure reliability, security, and performance across the platform

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience building cloud-based applications on AWS
• Familiarity with GitHub and GitHub Actions
• Solid SQL experience
• Strong problem-solving skills and a disciplined engineering mindset
• Ability to work effectively in a small, distributed team
• Commitment to clean, secure, maintainable code
• Network fundamentals; exposure to SIP/VOIP or other telecom protocols
• Computer Science degree

Nice to have

• Experience with Valkey/Redis
• Experience with Apache Kafka
• Experience with Apache Druid
• Background with automated testing frameworks
• Understanding of real-time data processing or low-latency systems
• Some frontend skills (e.g., Ember or React)

Work setup / location

• Fully remote (work from home)
• Works on EST hours; preferred time zone is EST or CST
