Role overview
Senior Software Engineer for the Monolith Platform, focused on evolving and strengthening monolithic backend systems that support mission-critical developer experiences at large scale. You’ll design, build, and optimize scalable, resilient, high-performance backend platform capabilities in a remote-first engineering culture.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and ship scalable backend and platform solutions for monolithic systems
- Build and maintain APIs and integrations enabling communication between services and internal platforms
- Provide technical leadership via code reviews, mentoring, pairing, and engineering best practices
- Own system health and reliability, including on-call and incident response
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver robust, scalable technical solutions
- Produce architecture proposals and technical briefs; prototype to improve scalability and performance
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and continuous delivery
- Ensure production maintainability, observability, and quality through proactive engineering practices
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering with production-grade systems
- Strong proficiency in one or more modern languages: Go, Java, Python, Ruby, Rust, JavaScript, or C++
- Experience designing and operating scalable backend systems, APIs, and distributed/cloud-native architectures
- Solid knowledge of system design, performance optimization, and software engineering best practices
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, DevOps workflows, and automated deployment
- Experience with scripting for automation/tooling (e.g., Bash or Python) — preferred
- Familiarity with cloud environments and CNCF concepts — preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication of technical decisions
- Ability to collaborate in distributed teams and contribute to shared codebases
- Ownership mindset focused on reliability, scalability, and maintainability
