Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

Loancrate is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help power the future of home buying in the US. You’ll ship production code quickly and take ownership of mission-critical projects that digitize mortgage operations and improve reliability and observability.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and launch complex, multi-step AI agents used to automate customer operations workflows.
• Integrate with 3rd-party lending services APIs to generate loan documents/disclosures, produce automated underwriting outputs, and help prevent fraud.
• Architect, build, and launch the next generation of job processing infrastructure on AWS to improve back-end observability and reliability.
• Contribute to a high-velocity engineering environment with strong developer experience (type safety, shared code, reproducible infra, and robust testing).

Required / Core Experience

• Strong TypeScript engineering as nearly all code is TypeScript.
• Experience building full-stack systems using React (frontend), Node/Express (backend), GraphQL/Apollo, and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and Terraform.
• Comfortable working in a monorepo with end-to-end type safety and shared tooling.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with modern AI product development lifecycles (e.g., evals, experiment design, dataset curation) and integrating non-deterministic LLMs into reliable systems.
• Strong security mindset and ability to identify security risks in systems handling sensitive personal data.

• DX practices: Type generation from Postgres/GraphQL schemas, shared TypeScript code across client/server packages, CI with ephemeral staging environments per PR, comprehensive testing utilities.
