About the role

Role overview

Twilio is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (L3) – Full Stack on the Console Runtime team. You will design, build, own, and operate the Twilio Console Runtime that powers the Twilio Console Web application and helps deliver new capabilities for the Twilio Console platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy new features using GraphQL, Node.js, React, TypeScript and related tooling (including Playwright, ViTest, and Buildkite)
  • Own your code end-to-end, including incident response, participation in an on-call rotation, and involvement in RCAs
  • Meet the team’s Definition of Done, improve software quality through refactoring and technical debt reduction
  • Write automated unit and integration tests and support a CI/CD environment
  • Manage work using GitHub, Jira, and Twilio build/deploy systems
  • Collaborate with Product leadership and teammates; participate in design/code reviews, backlog refinement, and other Agile/Scrum ceremonies
  • Troubleshoot production and domain issues with the team and document project work
  • Rapidly learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent industry experience)
  • 5+ years building and operating web applications using modern JavaScript technologies, preferably React, Node.js, and TypeScript
  • 5+ years with scalable, high-performing backend systems, including Backend-for-Frontends experience
  • Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL
  • Knowledge of automated testing and CI/CD pipelines using Buildkite or Jenkins
  • Strong engineering habits around testing, security, and automation
  • Experience triaging and resolving production issues
  • Ability to work effectively in a Scrum/Agile team and communicate clearly in a remote environment

Nice to have

  • Experience with AWS (or other public cloud)
  • Hands-on experience with testing strategies using frameworks such as Playwright and Cypress
