Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Founding Builder) at a stealth-stage AI legal tech company. You will be the next core team hire to help build production systems end-to-end with high autonomy and precision.

Hybrid setup: ~85% remote, but you must be able to be on-site for 3 nights every month in Miami or NYC.

Responsibilities

• Backend-first architecture and ownership: design and build complex platforms/products end-to-end.
• Build AI-native systems and infrastructure (design systems around AI rather than treating it as a feature).
• Implement LLM orchestration, agentic workflows, and MCP integrations.
• Deliver a high-quality end-user experience with a focus on elegant, convenient UX/UI, collaborating with a product-leaning counterpart.
• Operate in a regulated, high-precision domain where output correctness has real consequences.
• Ship production-grade systems quickly in a small, fast-moving environment with low maintenance/low ego.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering depth with a backend-first instinct.
• Proven ability to own complex platforms end-to-end and ship production systems you can stand behind.
• AI-native mindset: experience building with LLMs in production as infrastructure.
• Experience designing systems where correctness matters (legal, compliance, healthcare, or fintech are relevant signals).
• Ability to communicate precisely, flag blockers early, and work with high autonomy.
• Fully bilingual (English/Spanish).

Nice to Have / Signals

• Prior exposure to legal tech, compliance-adjacent data pipelines, or enterprise SaaS in high-stakes domains.

Compensation & Equity

• Monster equity: 0.20%–0.99% of the business (as of May 2026), meaningful early-stage ownership.
