Senior Software Engineer, iOS

Role Overview

Hungryroot is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to build and own end-to-end iOS features using Swift and SwiftUI. You’ll also work in an AI-augmented development environment, using tools and agents to accelerate development while ensuring production-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-quality iOS features with Swift and SwiftUI
• Own features end-to-end (architecture → implementation → iteration)
• Partner closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver impactful customer experiences
• Integrate and develop AI-powered features (e.g., conversational UI, recommendations, intelligent workflows)
• Work in an AI-assisted workflow where code may be generated by tools and then refined by engineers
• Review/refine AI-generated code to meet standards for performance, security, and UX
• Stay current with Apple technologies and propose/prototype adoption when beneficial to the product
• Improve development velocity and quality using modern tooling and workflows

Qualifications

• 5+ years of iOS development experience, including significant A/B testing experience
• Strong Swift and SwiftUI skills; SwiftUI-first mindset
• Experience shipping and maintaining production iOS apps
• Solid understanding of mobile architecture, performance, and best practices
• Strong experience integrating with RESTful APIs in production (authentication, pagination, error handling, networking performance, data modeling)
• AI-native mindset: regularly uses AI tools (e.g., Claude/ChatGPT/Copilot/Cursor) in daily work
• Comfortable generating/refining/debugging code with AI assistance and taking ownership of final quality
• Curious about emerging patterns such as agent workflows, tool use, and automation
