About the role

Role Overview

Join Flock Safety as a Senior Software Engineer (Intelligence) (full remote). You will design and build backend microservices and orchestration systems that power investigative workflows and AI tooling.

Responsibilities

Design and implement reliable backend systems, integration frameworks, and orchestration backends for investigative workflows.
Lead architectural evolution for backend execution, with a focus on high-performance and low-latency infrastructure.
Build high-throughput integration pipelines.
Partner with Machine Learning and Data Engineering teams to connect unstructured LLM outputs to structured internal APIs.
Maintain strict schema validation when bridging LLM outputs to internal services.
Focus areas: backend microservices, database access patterns, API design, and LLM orchestration.

Requirements

Proven ability writing production-grade backend code in Python or TypeScript for scalable web services and microservices.
Strong database expertise: PostgreSQL, OLAP databases, and Redis; optimize complex data access patterns and real-time retrieval with low latency.
Hands-on cloud-native infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD.
Ability to take ambiguous technical problems from zero-to-one/product inception and translate them into clear architectural roadmaps.

Nice to Have

Experience with LLM evaluation frameworks, vector search, or Infrastructure as Code.
Experience implementing agentic workflows, function calling, Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools, and prompt engineering with major LLM APIs.
