Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer for a US-based proprietary trading firm (Middle Office). You will build analytics and monitoring applications that support risk and trading workflows across multiple asset classes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with risk managers and trading desks to measure option and rate sensitivities.
• Design and implement complex financial modeling solutions with quantitative teams.
• Architect robust, scalable analytics systems for theoretical market outcome prediction and what-if scenarios.
• Produce readable, well-tested code across multiple languages and paradigms.
• Work with business, development, IT, and trading support teams.
• Participate in a team-wide on-call rotation.
• Provide feedback loops with users for support, testing, and ensuring their needs are met.

Required Experience / Qualifications

• Programming language experience: Elixir or Python (also listed: Java, C#).
• Systems-level programming language: C, C++, or Rust.
• Pricing, risk management, and portfolio analytics domain knowledge.
• Experience with exchange-traded financial assets; statistics or financial engineering.
• Strong data structures and algorithm design/analysis.
• Applied mathematics: linear algebra, optimization, numerical methods.
• Strong statistics and probability understanding.
• Quantitative modeling of financial products and derivatives.
• Fluent in functional, object-oriented, or imperative programming paradigms.
• Experience with distributed version control, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Compensation

• $200,000–$250,000 base salary
• $350,000–$450,000 total compensation (TC)
