About the role
Role Overview
Senior Software Engineer for a Prop Trading Firm’s Analytics Front Office team. You will design and run low-latency risk analytics services supporting real-time PnL and risk monitoring across trading desks.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate low-latency risk analytics systems
- Decompose complex requirements into reliable, efficient, and maintainable service designs
- Provide on-call support as part of a team rotation (split across US and UK time zones)
- Work with C# services using Rx for LINQ-style composition and asynchronous dispatch
- Build smaller supporting services in Python and integrate with analytics libraries in C++
Requirements
- Extensive experience designing and operating low-latency distributed systems at scale for critical business functions
- Strong testing practices, including testing and test automation
- Fluency in functional and object-oriented programming languages
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD platforms, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience with more than one of: C#, Java, Python, and C++
- Experience with databases such as MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis
- Experience with event-based platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ (or similar)
- Strong data structures and algorithm design/analysis
Nice to Haves
- Fixed income products and interest rate derivatives (risk, PnL attribution, scenario analysis)
- IR derivatives models (yield curves, option pricing, SABR, etc.)
- Statistics, discrete mathematics, linear algebra
