About the role

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer at Grafana Labs (remote-first), you’ll build and operate critical systems that power customer lifecycle workflows and internal business operations. You’ll help shape the team roadmap and drive projects from ideation through production operations.

Responsibilities

Design, build, operate, and maintain reliable services with a focus on availability, performance, and reliability
Take end-to-end ownership of the services your team runs (“you build it, you own it”)
Lead projects from ideation/implementation to production operations
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to build:
- reliable data flows
- business-critical automations
Solve integration challenges across internal platforms and third-party systems
Contribute across the stack, including APIs and user-facing web experiences

Requirements

Experience delivering projects from idea to production in a self-driven way
Strong modern software engineering practices including:
- CI/CD
- code review
- automated testing
Strong ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
Solid experience building and maintaining production backend services and APIs
Ability to work across the stack for end-to-end features spanning backend, integrations, and customer-facing web
Strong experience with at least one modern language such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or Go (or similar)
Solid frontend experience using TypeScript, ideally with modern web apps

Nice-to-haves

Experience designing and maintaining integrations between internal services and third-party platforms
Experience integrating with external business systems such as NetSuite or Salesforce via APIs/events/middleware
Interest in improving developer experience (DX) and workflows over time
