About the role

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack) on GoGuardian’s New Products Team. You’ll design and implement architectural solutions to help schools manage buildings and hallway safety, building features across the full stack.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and continually improve new product features
Develop high-performance backend services in Node/Go for real-time campus movement workflows
Build intuitive, data-rich frontend experiences using React
Design and implement APIs using gRPC and REST for real-time data access and service-to-service communication
Optimize SQL database schemas and queries for large-scale analytics
Build and maintain background workers for data aggregation/processing using asynchronous patterns
Integrate LLM/AI services (e.g., generative reporting and predictive scans)
Write high-quality, maintainable code with strong typing, tests, and documentation
Contribute infrastructure via Terraform for AWS services
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement
Mentor and coach developers

Requirements

5+ years professional experience leading and coordinating complex, large-scale features
Strong production experience with Node and Go, including concurrency patterns, gRPC, and microservices architecture
React experience building high-quality apps with TypeScript, including dashboards/data visualization
API and microservices experience handling high throughput using gRPC/REST
Proficiency with PostgreSQL, including complex query optimization, indexing, and analytics workloads
Familiarity with Redis/Redis Cluster and multi-tier caching architectures
Working knowledge of AWS (preferred: ECS, Aurora, Athena, S3, SQS)
Working knowledge of Docker and orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes)
Experience with modern React tooling/component libraries (shadcn, React Router)
Proven ability delivering highly performant and scalable features
Strong communication skills and commitment to engineering quality and team culture

Nice to Have

Experience integrating LLM/AI services into production features
Deep AWS/ECS/Kubernetes operational familiarity
