Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack - Aerial Capture (USA)

Role Overview

Senior Full Stack Software Engineer on the Aerial Capture team at DroneDeploy. You will help scale autonomous drone operations to thousands of jobsites and build aerial and robotics solutions that connect field hardware, data processing, and user-facing experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-stack projects end-to-end (design to deployment), with full ownership of architecture and implementation.
• Build secure, scalable, high-performance systems using modern technologies.
• Develop and test on autonomous drones and sensor payloads, including field hardware integrations and data processing.
• Collaborate across teams and run smaller projects; contribute proactively to technical design decisions.
• Maintain and evolve robust features and services in a remote-first environment.

Required / Core Skills

• Experience designing and implementing full-stack product features across backend and frontend.
• Ability to work with backend APIs using Python/Go.
• Ability to build modern frontend experiences with Angular (v19+).
• Experience with drone/robotics integration or closely related systems involving sensors and field hardware.

Work Environment

• Remote work from home.
• Availability during core overlap hours: 7:00 AM–2:00 PM PT (meetings may occur 2:00–4:00 PM PT).
• Occasional domestic travel for training and company events.
