About the role

Role Overview

Ollie is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain the systems powering its subscription platform. This is a remote role based in the Northeast U.S. with monthly in-person co-working sessions, working closely with engineers, product managers, and designers in an agile environment.

What You’ll Do

Design, build, and maintain APIs, interfaces, and technical infrastructure powering Ollie’s subscription platform
Contribute across the software lifecycle: planning/design → implementation → deployment → maintenance
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality features
Develop and integrate 3rd-party services to improve functionality and customer experience
Write reliable, performant, well-tested code that scales with business growth
Improve existing systems via refactoring, performance optimization, and automation
Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical discussions to uphold best practices
Troubleshoot production issues to maintain a stable and resilient platform
Continuously explore new tools and techniques to improve developer experience and product quality

Who You Are

3+ years professional experience building applications in a Python framework (e.g., Django, Flask)
5+ years experience building API systems, including:
- REST
- OAuth2
- 3rd-party integrations using REST APIs and JSON
2+ years frontend framework experience (e.g., React, Angular)
Proficiency with a relational database and SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Strong understanding of time/maintainability/quality trade-offs
Experience writing unit tests
Experience with version control (e.g., Git)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Self-starter who enjoys working on a small, dedicated team
