Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack - Fintech Airlines - (100% Remote - US)

Role Overview

Senior Full-Stack Engineer on Hopper’s Fintech team, supporting the backend systems and microservices that power HTS and fintech offerings. You’ll build globally scaled, highly available systems for airline and enterprise partners across APAC and beyond.

What You’ll Do

• Iterate on features in an agile manner using Scala and React (no prior experience required).
• Decide how to best build core systems within a microservices architecture.
• Develop and ship code quickly, iterating as product needs evolve.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Frontend Engineers, and other specialists.
• Drive high-impact initiatives and opportunities for revenue and product success.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and how architecture impacts performance and maintainability.
• Track record of effective collaboration in cross-functional teams.
• Strong quality focus: writing testable, performant, scalable code.
• Ability to work with minimal guidance and handle ambiguity.
• Prior cloud experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Scala and/or React and their ecosystems.
• Airline/travel industry or eCommerce experience.
• Experience in UX design and tools like Figma.
