About the role
Role overview
As a Senior Software Engineer, Frontend at Harvey, you will own and lead frontend engineering projects that define the user experience of products including Assistant, Vault, Workflows, and the Harvey add-ins for Microsoft Word and Outlook. You will also lead frontend engineering efforts for new products being built at Harvey.
What you’ll do
- Build new AI collaboration interfaces for lawyers and organizations
- Lead end-to-end UI features (scoping, design reviews, implementation, launch, iteration)
- Create polished, high-performance interfaces using React + TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, including resilient state management and strong error handling
- Architect reusable components and patterns and evolve the internal design system
- Optimize frontend performance at scale
- Collaborate with design and backend/infrastructure teams to shape APIs and UX for streaming results, long-running jobs, and tool-calling workflows
- Improve frontend reliability and security UX for enterprise and regulated environments
- Mentor peers via code reviews and documentation; help raise frontend standards and developer experience
What you have
- Experience with React, TypeScript, and CSS (including Tailwind CSS)
- Proven track record building fast-growing SaaS products
- Evidence of shipping highly intuitive products with strong attention to detail
- Startup/scaleup experience (early to late stage) is a plus
- Experience with PWA technologies is referenced as part of SaaS shipping experience
