Role overview

As a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend), you will shape the user experience of Flock Safety’s search interface. You’ll optimize performance and collaborate closely with product, design, and backend engineering to deliver high-quality, scalable frontend features.

Key missions

Lead architectural evolution and frontend execution for core Search features across a React/TypeScript/Node web stack.
Translate user research and design mocks into performant user experiences.
Champion frontend engineering standards through thorough code reviews and improved technical execution across the Search engineering team.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain frontend features for search functionality.
Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver UX improvements and product outcomes.
Improve code quality and engineering practices via reviews and mentorship/elevation.

Requirements

Strong frontend expertise with React and TypeScript.
Full-stack working context with Node.js web services and modern API design concepts such as REST, GraphQL, or gRPC.
Ability to solve problems in ambiguous technical environments and continuously learn.
Practical understanding of backend integration patterns and relational databases (PostgreSQL) to collaborate effectively with backend peers.
Experience building map-based data visualizations using Mapbox or the Google Maps API.

Nice to have

Familiarity with AWS managed services.
Frontend performance optimization for high-traffic applications.
