Senior Software Engineer, Frontend Engineering New York, NY; Remote, US (Hub cities)

Role Overview

You’ll join a full-stack product engineering team building human-centered experiences that drive enrollment and product adoption on the Maven Clinic app.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement responsive, accessible, and optimized web (and potentially mobile) applications.
• Build using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and related frontend technologies.
• Use Node.js to support frontend architecture, tooling, and server-side rendering.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate frontend components with backend APIs and services.
• Partner with product managers and designers to translate user needs into technical specifications.
• Ensure security, scalability, and performance of frontend applications.
• Test, debug, and maintain high-quality frontend code.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and other collaborative practices.
• Maintain documentation and contribute to the team’s knowledge base.
• Support Maven’s mission and culture (including diversity and inclusion).

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional frontend web development experience.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript and a modern framework such as React (or Vue.js).
• Experience with responsive design and mobile-first development.
• Experience with web performance optimization and web accessibility.
• Experience with unit testing (e.g., Jest) and automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium or Cypress).
• Proficiency with Git.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
