Senior Software Engineer - Frontend - Coinbase Card team

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) on the Coinbase Card team within the Consumer Product Group. You’ll build and ship the user-facing experiences behind Coinbase’s card products, helping consolidate Coinbase One Card (credit) and Coinbase Card (debit) onto a unified card platform.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end frontend development for core crypto money movement experiences (send, receive, and transaction status tracking) across web and mobile.
• Drive measurable improvements in latency, availability, and SLOs for payment flows you own.
• Build new user-facing features (e.g., contact management and real-time transaction status trackers).
• Partner with product, design, and backend engineering to scope, prioritize, and ship projects that reduce CX contact rates and improve customer experience.
• Identify and resolve frontend performance bottlenecks across payment flows to reduce end-to-end latency and improve reliability.
• Provide mentorship and act as a senior technical voice on a mixed-level team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in React and React Native.
• Strong track record shipping consumer-facing products end-to-end in a high-scale environment, with a focus on performance, reliability, and UX.
• Experience owning SLOs and delivering measurable improvements in latency and availability.

Nice to Have

• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Work Model

• Remote-first, not remote-only.
• Quarterly in-person working sessions (“surges”).

Compensation

• Annual base salary range (excluding equity/bonus): $186,065 – $218,900 USD (location-dependent).
• Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility plus benefits.
