Senior Software Engineer - Frontend - Coinbase Card team

Role Overview

Senior Frontend Software Engineer for the Coinbase Card team (Consumer Product Group). You will build and ship the user-facing experiences behind Coinbase’s card products (Coinbase One Card and Coinbase Card), helping consolidate both onto a unified card platform.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end frontend development for core crypto money movement experiences, including send, receive, and transaction status tracking across web and mobile.
• Drive measurable improvements in latency, availability, and SLOs for payment flows you own.
• Build new user-facing features (e.g., contact management and real-time transaction status trackers).
• Partner with product, design, and backend engineering to scope, prioritize, and ship projects that reduce CX contact rates and improve customer experience.
• Identify and resolve frontend performance bottlenecks across payment flows to reduce end-to-end latency and improve reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in React and React Native.
• Proven ability to ship consumer-facing products end-to-end in high-scale environments, with a focus on performance, reliability, and UX.
• Experience owning SLOs and delivering measurable improvements in latency and availability.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and act as a senior technical voice on a mixed-level team.
• Uses generative AI responsibly, with human oversight, to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and output quality.

Compensation & Logistics

• Remote-first, not remote-only. Quarterly in-person “surges” (intense working sessions).
• Annual base salary range: $186,065 - $218,900 USD (excluding equity/bonus).
