About the role

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Front End/UI) reporting to the Head of Product. You’ll be responsible for end-to-end design and development of user-facing features for Worknice’s flagship HR SaaS product (“Notebook”).

Location / Work Model

Sydney-based, remote within Australia welcome (distributed-by-default team)
Remote-friendly, minimal meetings

Responsibilities

Support team members in implementing user-facing product features
Own end-to-end UI engineering for core product capabilities
Build core HRIS features, including:
- Employee directory and people profiles
- Forms / questionnaires
- Shared calendar & events
- Confidential notes and comments
Build workforce planning features (positions/employment-related management)

Requirements

Extensive experience building web applications
Experience with Next.js
Experience with GraphQL
Willingness to take responsibility for end-to-end design and development of features
Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially for remote work
Ability to work autonomously

Bonus Qualities

Experience with PostgreSQL
Experience working at a startup
Experience with product management/ownership
Backend engineering experience
