Senior Software Engineer

Role overview

You’ll join Fleetio’s Integrations team as a Senior Software Engineer. The role is product-minded and hands-on across the stack, focusing on building reliable integration solutions, improving usability and design consistency, and scaling data flows with external partners.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to deliver high-quality integration partner solutions
• Build and evolve partner-facing user experiences with a focus on clarity, usability, and design consistency
• Develop and maintain backend functionality for integrations, workflows, and data processing
• Work with complex domains involving external systems, integrations, and large datasets
• Write high-quality, well-tested code (including unit/integration/UI tests)

Requirements

• 2+ years building modern, user-focused web applications with React and TypeScript
• Strong foundation in modern web development with thoughtful approaches to UI/UX and design consistency
• Comfortable with data-intensive systems and complex business logic
• Strong written and verbal communication; effective cross-functional collaboration
• Experience writing unit, integration, and UI tests
• Strong frontend best practices (e.g., component architecture, state management, performance)
• Experience with APIs and external integrations
• Familiarity with relational databases, with PostgreSQL preferred
• 5+ years professional experience building production software with Ruby on Rails
• Experience translating designs into polished, accessible UI; working closely with designers

Nice to haves

• Experience improving or contributing to design systems or UI component libraries
• Background in partner-facing or B2B SaaS products
• Experience with background processing, asynchronous workflows, or event-driven systems
